At my appointment at the GPs office to have my stitches out, the PA suggested a few things to help during my recovery. One was having a sign-up sheet with things people could do to help, such as make dinners.
Patti, a former neighbor and good friend, had asked what she could do to help me recover. Her words were, “Susan, you do so much for other people, let us help you.”
Okay, this is a good time for me to learn to receive. Receiving is not one of my strong points. But she is right. I love to help people. It is time for me to let others help me.
So I asked her to organize some of our friends to make me dinner. And she did. Because I have food intolerances, there were times that I provided recipes and/or ingredients. And I always enjoyed what they made for me.
This enabled me to get home from work, eat, and then do some therapeutic things like meditation, laying on the Healthy Line infrared heating pad, taking a hot bath in Epsom salts, etc.
