I spoke to Dr. Ansanelli about the pathology report from the surgery. He said the report said that it was an aggressive cancer, but all of the tumor was removed. The two nodes he removed were cancerous as well. I would need further care and must find a medical oncologist. And I should also have a PET or CAT scan to see if the cancer has spread.
And … all of this being said, I am pissed. I DO NOT want to see an oncologist. I DO NOT want to have chemo. And I certainly DO NOT want some doctor telling me that I have to have chemo. Grudgingly I looked up names of oncologists. I even called a few. I also called an Immunologist (his consultation fee was anywhere from $600 to $1200, with an evaluation fee of $5000). I called a clinic in Dallas that does Insulin Potentiation Therapy (IPT). They wanted me to be in Dallas for 10 rounds of treatment in 6 weeks. Neither of these options were acceptable.
I called the Integrative Cancer Treatment Center (ICTC). The consultation was $500 and they accepted my insurance. So, I made an appointment for Sept. 6th.
